Effective January 1, 2015 New Jersey Minimum Wage Will Increase To $8.38 per Hour

Pursuant to Department of Labor and Workforce Development Legislation N.J.S.A. 34:11-56a, which passed in 2013, the State conducts an annual review of the minimum wage to ensure that it keeps pace with the rate of inflation. Please be advised that, as a result, the NJ minimum wage will increase to $8.38 per hour, effective January 1, 2015. Departments do not need to submit ad hoc salary requests to increase employees to the new minimum. University Human Resources will be processing a mass hourly rate update for all hourly students and temporary employees who are currently below the new minimum. This mass update will take place on December 12, 2014. You will receive workflow notifications for your employees; however, no additional action is needed.
